Drake’s Restaurant serves exceptional American cuisine in a warm, inviting setting. Since Drake’s opened in Burlington’s historic ‘River District’ in 2014, it has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. Handcrafted burgers, fresh seafood, and decadent desserts are all on our menu. As part of the Drake’s family, we pride ourselves on our hospitality. Drake’s Place was Sonny Lewis’ dream since he was fourteen years old. One night, when the head chef fell ill, he stepped up to cook. During the next forty years, he became a renowned American chef. Despite his success, Drake held onto his dream. Before the restaurant space went on the market, he and his wife, Bridgett, acquired it. In May 2014, Drake’s Place became a vibrant center of community activity. It is part of the historic River District in downtown Burlington, which dates back to the 1830s.

Drake Hardware once occupied the building. It has an interesting architectural history. Stone foundation and old YMCA windows were salvaged for the building. Sonny and Bridgett created not just a restaurant, but a community gathering place as well. Food and strong connections are at the center of their journey.
