background and history of Taste Of China Elkhorn
Located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Taste of China offers both traditional and modern Chinese cuisine. It is well known for its delicious food and exceptional service, and provides dine-in, takeout, and delivery services. During the California Gold Rush in 1849, the first Chinese restaurant in the United States opened. Cantonese food was introduced to their communities by immigrants from Guangdong. In the Yin Dynasty, meat was a gift to the emperors of China. Among the oldest dishes in Chinese cuisine is Nanjing salted duck, a dish over 2,000 years old.
In 2013, Taste of China in Vancouver, Washington, was launched, building on the family’s earlier venture, Taste of Asia. The restaurant is known for its hearty portions and local connection. There is a classy interior with Chinese art, calligraphy, and wooden decorations in the restaurant. Its signature dishes include General Tso’s chicken and flavorful stir-fries. With its own fleet of vehicles, Taste of China offers fast, reliable delivery within a 5-mile radius. Throughout history, Chinese food in America has incorporated American ingredients and tastes.
Chop Suey, Egg Foo Young, and Sweet and Sour Chicken became American favorites. In 1965, American Chinese cuisine was enriched by the introduction of Chinese flavors, such as those from Sichuan and Hunan. Known for its fusion of traditional and Americanized dishes, Chinese food is a staple in American dining. With authentic Chinese flavors coupled with a modern touch, Taste of China reflects this fusion.
