Canes background and history
In 1996, Todd Graves founded Raising Canes in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In college, he and a friend created a chicken finger restaurant business plan. A professor gave Graves’ plan the lowest grade, but he didn’t let that stop him. He worked long hours in an oil refinery and fished in Alaska to fund his venture. A SBA loan was also secured by him. “The Mothership” opened near Louisiana State University on August 28, 1996. Raising Cane’s has expanded to over 800 locations worldwide since then. “Canaics” are fans of the restaurant named for Graves’ yellow Labrador, Raising Cane. Graves’ determination and success were evident in Raising Canes’ $2.3 billion revenue in 2024.
A variety of combo meals are available at Cane’s, which specializes in chicken tenders. They serve chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and dipping sauces on their menu.
Chicken fingers are Raising Cane’s most famous dish. A simple menu offers chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and Cane’s Sauce, along with their high-quality chicken tenders.
Cane’s Sauce is a creamy, tangy dipping sauce that is a signature item at Raising Cane’s. It is a proprietary recipe, and its exact ingredients are a closely guarded secret, though it is often described as a combination of mayo, ketchup, and spices.
The standout item at Raising Cane’s is their irresistible chicken fingers, served alongside golden crinkle-cut fries, thick-cut Texas toast, creamy coleslaw, and the beloved Cane’s Sauce.
