Earl Lambert, his wife Agnes, brother Robert, and Robert’s wife Ruby founded the cafe in Sikeston in 1942. “Ole Norm,” Earl’s son, took over management in 1976. Rolls were thrown at customers by Norman. During a hot roll incident in August 2015, a customer suffered permanent eye injuries. Lambert’s had previously faced similar lawsuits, according to the plaintiff’s lawyer. Similar claims have been filed by other Lambert’s customers. Some restaurants cover medical expenses. Historically, rolling has led to legal challenges.
