Description

Warm, comforting, and wonderfully aromatic, this simple hot ginger tea is the perfect drink for calming the senses and easing the throat. With just a few ingredients and minimal prep, it’s a cozy cup of wellness you can make anytime, morning, evening, or whenever you need a gentle boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 inches fresh ginger root, sliced thin
  • 2 cups water
  • 12 tsp honey (optional, to taste)
  • 12 tsp fresh lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel the ginger (optional) and slice it thinly to maximize flavor.
  • Add the ginger slices and water to a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10–15 minutes, depending on how strong you want it.
  • Strain the tea into a mug.
  • Stir in honey and lemon juice if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For stronger ginger tea, simmer up to 20 minutes.

Add cinnamon, turmeric, or fresh mint for extra flavor.

Use maple syrup or agave instead of honey to keep it vegan.

Ginger tea can also be made by steeping grated ginger in a teapot for 5–7 minutes.
