Description

These Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with melty chocolate chips. A timeless classic, they’re quick to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth or sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. Make Cookie Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla; mix until smooth.

4. Combine & Add Chocolate Chips:
Stir in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

5. Shape & Bake:
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden but centers still soft.

6. Cool & Enjoy:
Let cookies rest on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make Ahead: Dough can be chilled for up to 48 hours before baking for deeper flavor.

Variations: Swap semisweet chips for white, dark, or peanut butter chips. Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.

Serving Suggestions: Serve warm with milk, pack in lunchboxes, or stack as a sweet gift.

Storage Tips: Keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or freeze up to 2 months.
