background and history of China Chef Richboro
It has been a family-owned Chinese restaurant in Richboro, Pennsylvania, since 1996. Known for its fresh, flavorful food, it is a favorite among locals. Other “China Chef” restaurants are located in different areas, such as one that serves Cantonese and Filipino cuisine. A second restaurant is located in South Milwaukee and offers Chinese and Asian cuisine with excellent service and wheelchair accessibility. North Port has a third restaurant with a wide selection of dishes, no MSG, and generous portions. A native of Hubei Province, China, Chef Chang attended Deep Creek Culinary School. As a cruise ship captain, he met his wife, Lisa, on the Yangtze River.
Later, Chang worked in luxury hotels and won cooking competitions in China. Upon moving to the United States in 2001, he cooked at the Chinese Embassy for Vice President Hu Jintao. Rather than returning to China in 2003, the Chang family decided to remain in the United States. In the next eight years, Chang lived in ten different southeastern U.S. cities, including Fairfax, Virginia. In order to avoid detection, Chang cooked under the name “Mr. Liu”.
