It was opened in 1981 by Joe Buonavolanto Sr. and his wife, Peggy. Their children, Joanne, Carlo, John, Jimmy, Don, and Joe Jr., were with them. As a family-owned business, Joe and Peggy wanted to provide for future generations. A $10,000 second mortgage on their home helped them achieve this dream. A half-mile walk brought them to the restaurant. A classic Chicago Italian beef sandwich was to be elevated. Their special recipe was created using fresh, all-natural ingredients. All customers are welcome at the restaurant.
As a community favorite, the restaurant was built and shaped by its children from the start. Beef expanded into multiple locations over time. Family dedication and diligence made the business thrive.
